First Post! (Many Pictures Ahead!)

I only just started getting into nail polishing and designing.  I would normally let my nails go bare and would only paint them when I had the time.  However, theses days I've been constantly finding myself envying over these brilliant designs and gorgeous colors people have been using on their nails. While that's all well and good, the fact of the matter is...I can't draw to save my life and I'm hardly creative.  So no, I will not necessarily be posting original ideas but instead testing them to see how easy they are so that the too-busy-to-pamper-myself-folks can do them.  With that being said I'd like to clear up some things outright:
1.  I am not an expert.  I have no training whatsoever.  Nada.  Zip.
2.  I tend to be sloppy.  I try my best to make my nails look delicious but I'm sure that will come with experience.
3.  I chop my nails down and rarely shape them.  It's not that I have nasty crooked nails, but I don't get nitpick-y if my nails break or whatever.  I'm a musician and that requires my nails to be very short at all times.
4.  I am very new at this, so any suggestions (notice I didn't say criticisms) would be ever so lovely!

Now onto the real post!

This design was inspired by this tutorial.  My new favorite go to mani: The Half Moon

I started this mani, as with all of my others, by using a base coat.  I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails.

Then I used 2 coats of Wet N' Wild Private Viewing

After that dried I put a thin layer of top coat over it.  I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat

I then used the full circle on the bottom of my nail.  I used these (not that you really need a picture but here ya' go!) because there's over 900 and I got them for $1.00.  Also, I took some of the sticky-ness off by sticking it to my palm a couple of times.

While the stickers were on, I put on 1 coat of Pure Ice All Night Long.
Even though it looked good, I still wanted a bit more.  With the stickers still on, I put a thin coat of Girly Bits Shift Happens.  It's a beautiful multicolored shimmer that really adds something special to any color.  I will be doing a more in depth review of it later.

When that was nearly dry, I carefully removed the stickers and put on two coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat.  Here is what it looks like all together.

I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't clean up my cuticles or sides so yes, they are not perfect and are a bit sloppy, so my apologies! Also, on the pics where I am holding the bottles, I would like to note that I had been wearing the mani for over 1 week and there was hardly any chipping and I am not very easy on my nails!

The Half Moon is such a cute and easy idea.  I love it and I hope you do too!

P.S.: Everything I used for this was bought at Walmart and can be found at other drugstores as well.  Girly Bits is an indie brand that can be bought here.
